At Japan Dreamscapes (JDS), our team can’t wait for our annual Autumn Leaves Tours. Right now, we’re out enjoying the seascapes and summer landscapes, but the moment autumn rolls around, Japan turns into something truly special, and our workshop leaders get out into it. Travelers flying into Narita or Haneda come ready to chase those fiery reds, warm oranges, and glowing golds that make autumn here unforgettable—and we’re just as excited to show them off.
Our Photography Tour Leaders have been exploring Japan for nearly 30 years, always on the hunt for the best places to catch the seasons at their peak. Whether you’re wandering quiet gardens, capturing vibrant city scenes, or standing in awe before Mt. Fuji (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), every stop is set up for you to take those “wow” shots. It’s the same beauty that inspired artists like Katsushika Hokusai—and it’s waiting for your camera.
But here’s the thing: autumn in Japan isn’t just about the leaves. On our JDS private Mt. Fuji Tour, for example, we’ll point out the famous “Philosopher’s Tree,” a lone tree that sparks reflection—and makes for an unforgettable photo. Sometimes it’s the light, the atmosphere, or the setting itself that steals the show. Whether it’s Osaka’s buzzing streets or a peaceful countryside scene, you’ll come home with photos that don’t just look good—they tell a story. So if you’re dreaming about Japan in autumn, don’t just scroll past the pictures on social media—come take them yourself.
